African Savanna at the Fort Worth Zoo

The African Savanna was the first phase of the "A Wilder Vision" campaign. The new exhibits offer eye-to-eye contact with giraffes where guests can engage in feeding. The hippos now have a 148-foot-long river with a 70-foot-long observation window underground for guests to watch them swim and play. Additionally, black rhinos now have more green space to move around, and many other species will cohabitate in their new homes.

To accommodate a growing desire for wedding venues and company parties, the African Savanna also features a 10,000 SF event tent along with a wooden deck surrounded by shading oak trees and a private stage for entertainment. The tent has heating and cooling capabilities for guest comfort.
